I've been interested in the Kotobukiya Bishoujo (beautiful girl) series statues for a while now. Finally picked up my first piece - Jaina Solo from Star Wars!
The box is glossy black, different from the other comic characters in the Bishoujo series. (They are primarily white.) I like it, very Star Wars feel! The artwork is by master Japanese illustrator Shunya Yamashita, and this statue is based on it.
Box contents
Comes with 2 logos for the baseplate - a standard Star Wars title and a Rogue Squadron patch.
Her left hand is holding her helmet while right hand is holding her flight vest and lightsaber. Interstingly, her helmet has exactly the same design and markings as her uncle Luke's!
Jaina Solo in front of her X-Wing.
Previously I've always been more interested in action figures than statues. But maybe it's because I don't play with toys that much now but just put them on display, quality of the sculpt and artwork become more important than articulation and poseability.
The next Star Wars character in Kotobukiya's Bishoujo series will be Mara Jade, the Emperor's Hand. (And future aunt of Jaina!) Yes, I'll probably be getting that too.
Bonus pic: Jaina Solo with a model of her X-Wing. Actually, it's from the old Micro Machines Action Fleet series!
