I got my MP-20 Masterpiece Wheeljack! Here's a first photo of the box, exclusive coin and anti-hypnosis device as seen in the G1 episode "The Ultimate Doom Part 3"
Wife and I are tokidoki fans. Every year we look forward to Simone Legno (tokidoki creator) visiting Singapore at STGCC to meet up with him, and also get his autographs and sketches. This year, we bought along both our Pullip Violettas - 1 opened, 1 in box - for Simone to autograph. We asked if he could give our Violetta personalised 'tattoos' ( just like he gave our Pullip Luna last year ) and he duly obliged!
When I was young, one of my favourite Transformers is Autobot Jetfire. Not because of the cartoon or comics, but because the G1 toy was a Macross VF-1S Valkyrie fighter/mecha. Yes, I was a fan of Macross even before Transformers. ;) Of course, Hasbro was never able to reissue Jetfire based on that design due to licence issue. But this Generations Leader-class Jetfire comes pretty darn close, down to the rocket boosters!
Just revealed on tokidoki's blog - Pullip Super Stella and Dal Vendettina will be sold at SDCC 2014!
This is the first time a convention-exclusive Pullip is a tokidoki collab. Also the first time we have a tokidoki x Dal doll. Unfortunately, according to the blog only 250 dolls were made! Hope there's a chance of getting them from other sources... and at reasonable price!
Do you want to build a spaceship? It'll be colored blue and gray I just cannot wait anymore To open up the box Let's finish this today!
I've actually completed building this set 2 weeks ago but haven't had time to post this. Building this set brings back memories of all the old classic space sets I've built long ago. Wave of nostalgia when I poured out those blue, grey and yellow bricks!
I found my old World Cup Mexico'86 and Italia'90 Panini sticker albums! Mexico is complete but Italia missing a few stickers. I haven't bought anymore after these, not even this year's.
Quite nostalgic looking through them and seeing familiar names, many of whom are managers now. They look so young then!
Among the new Lego Movie sets, the one I was most anticipating and most excited about is Benny's Spaceship since I've always been a big fan of Classic Space. And now, the set is finally here! I will be taking more photos ns I fix up this beautiful ship. So stay tuned! :D
Some countries have already screened this movie, and reviews have been generally positive. Can't wait to watch it when it finally screens here this week. Yes, tickets have already been bought! :P
Beginning of 2014, Groove announced their second Pullip x tokidoki collaboration doll - Lunarosa Not happy to rest on that, Groove has gone one up with their just-announced 3-way collab doll with Pullip, tokidoki and now Hello Kitty! Presenting... Pullip Violetta!
Wife and I went for an impromptu holiday to Tokyo... yes, again! Wife has never seen the sakura cherry blossoms in full bloom, so we decided to take this chance. Besides cherry blossom viewing and hanami, of course we also plan for toy shopping! We didn't buy as much as our previous trips, but we're happy with our purchases.
Firstly, our Yotsuba & Danboard loot! We came across this Yotsuba & Danboard exhibition being held at Sunshine 60 observatory in Ikebukuro, and were pleasantly surprised to find some great stuff there. We bought the Ts because of the Danbo peeping out from the pocket. Even the shirt label is a Danbo face, too cute!
The Lego Movie has set off a renewed wave of interest in Lego. Coincidentally (or not?), Bricks World - a Lego monobrand store - also held its annual storewide sale, and I took this chance to buy a set I've been eyeing on. So here's my haul during the sale!
10236 Ewok Village 70802 Bad Cop's Pursuit 30302 Spider-Man polybag (free gift!) Unikitty LED Lite <= wife loves this!
With the Lego craze at all-time high due to the Lego Movie, thought I'd share this photo of the oldest Lego catalogues I still have - from 1981 to 1984! How many of you have not even been born yet? ;) Happy Throwback Thursday!
LEGO fans, our wait is over! The LEGO Movie has now opened in cinemas. Reviews so far have been good, so Everything is looking Awesome to a good show when I watch this on Friday! Even my minifigs can't wait to watch the movie LOL! Have you watched the movie yet? Does it make you want to open up a Lego set and build something? ;)
Just released today: first trailer for the new Transformers: Age of Extinction movie. We have our first good look at Mark Wahlberg... erm, the Autobots and Decepticons with their new designs.
My first impression is not much difference from the previous Bayformers designs. The bot that caught my eye is the one that Optimus Prime rides on. It should be Grimlock, but looks more like a dragon than a dinosaur/T-rex. Here's my G1 interpretation of the above scene. "C'mon Grimlock! Just like in the trailer!"
Which Transformer are you most looking forward to in the movie?
During Doll Carnival 2012, Groove launch their first collaboration with the tokidoki brand - Pullip doll Luna. She must have been a success, because this year 2014 we will get another tokidoki Pullip! Groove has released photos of her on their blog, and also her name - Lunarosa!
Lego just released the new Star Wars MicroFighters series. These are chibi (small) Star Wars vehicles with minifigures sitting outside them - too big to fully fit inside. And they are cute! I just bought my first set: Lego 75032 X-Wing Fighter
